Lysander sat out in the sun, glad that it wasn’t raining on that specific Saturday morning. While he knew that he would be one of the few people awake, he couldn’t help but hope someone would join him in the morning sun. It would get unbearably hot later, more likely than not, and the current temperature was absolutely perfect, in Andy’s opinion. While he loved summer, and he loved warm weather, he preferred the morning’s gentle breeze to the harsh heat of the afternoon. At the moment, he was barefoot, the bottoms of his feet black with the dirt from his journey down to the lake. His legs were spread out in front of him, his feet dangling just out of the water. He wore a pair of blue swim trunks designed for surfing, and his chest was bare, just in case he had the urge to swim. Behind him on the ground lay his t-shirt and his towel, both having been discarded upon his arrival at the lake. In his lap sat his acoustic guitar. Usually, he took to hiding it under his bed for safe keeping. Today, though, he’d thought that writing in the sun, with his sunglasses on, would be a welcome change to his dark dormitory. Strumming absently, Lysander looked out over the lake, just watching as the sun reflected on the water. wc: 227 tag: open

Sam, though not usually sleeping until the late hours of the afternoon, didn't really enjoy getting up too early, either. So, when he was still asleep and he heard his roommate moving about the dorm, he was a bit disgruntled. Still, it was too late to go back to sleep, and the room was too stuffy to just stay there for an hour or two.
The only option he could see was actually going outside. He didn't bother with shoes, but just had on a white T-shirt and some shorts. Spotting Lysander, he mentally shrugged, making his way over to the boy. After all...why not? They got on fine a few days before...
He gave him a half-smile as he sat down beside Lysander, not wanting to interrupt his musical process, instead just listening to the tune.

Lysander looked up as someone joined him, smiling when he realized that it was Samuel. He stopped strumming, looking over at his roommate more scrutinizingly. "Did I wake you up? I didn't mean to." He said simply, before looking out over the lake again, hoping that if he had woken Sam, the other boy wouldn't be mad at him. He honestly hadn't meant to wake him, Andy just loved mornings.
He had always been a morning person, always getting up before anyone else to go surfing, or to read, or simply to be alone and to do his own thing. People didn't generally bother him either way, but he liked the inability to be bothered.

Sam shrugged, looking out at the lake as well. "Don't worry about it," he answered truthfully. "I'll invest in a pair of earplugs or something from now on."
He knew that Lysander wouldn't intentionally try to wake him up, since he just didn't seem to be that type of guy. Still, the shuffling of getting dressed and getting out his guitar was enough to wake Sam from his light sleep. Maybe he would actually buy a pair of earplugs, or maybe he'd just cope with it until he didn't even hear the sound anymore.

Lysander couldn't help but feel badly about having woken his roommate up, despite the fact that the other boy didn't seem all that bothered. "I'll buy them for you," He offered, "Since it's my fault you need them anyway."
Even while he spoke, Andy was thinking of ways to be more quiet when he snuck out of the room, not wanting to disturb or disrupt Sam in any way. Perhaps he would leave his shoes outside, or have his guitar by the door. Maybe he could even sleep in his clothes, or leave just a bit earlier.

"Dude, it's okay," Sam assured him, brushing off the other boy's offer. "Earplugs are what? A dollar?" He shrugged, his voice still quiet as he looked out over at the lake. On a whim, he moved a little closer to the water, dipping his toes in. The lake was cool, but not freezing, enough so that his toes felt nice and refreshed. He briefly considered jumping in, but then remembered he didn't have a bathing suit. He could always go in in his boxers...well, he'd wait to see what Lysander decided to do. He didn't want his roommate to think him a freak so early on in the year.

"A dollar spent is a dollar you won't get back, man... Think about it." Lysander said simply, shrugging. He wasn't a big spender (unless guitars and surfboards were in the mix) and he thought that people their age should learn to save, so that they could be successful later in life. Gently strumming his guitar, he pondered it. While St Bacchus had the most intelligent students in the country, it was possible that none of them had a good business sense, that all of them would end up with great companies that would make very little money.

Sam furrowed his eyebrows for a moment, looking down at the water as he thought about what Lysander said. After pondering for a few seconds, he shrugged and nodded. "Guess you're right," he said. His toes skimmed the water, glad at how cool it felt against the air, which was gradually growing warmer. He would probably take off his shirt off at some point, but it wasn't quite that hot yet.
"I guess I'll get used to it then," he shrugged, not too bothered by it. Maybe, if Lysander did continuously wake him up, he could just stay in bed and fall asleep again.
