Lance couldn't find a McDonald's around here, his fast food place of choice. However, he sauntered into the closest fast food place he could find - it wasn't McDonald's - and walked over to the counter, a knapsack slung over one shoulder. Inside he had his science homework, which he planned to take a crack at at some point.
He frowned when he got to the register, hoping that somehow they would have a Big Mac, but, alas, they didn't - he got a double pounder, hoping it would suffice.
By the time he actually got his burger, fries, and Diet Coke there were barely any tables left to choose from - the one issue about coming to a fast food restaurant at lunch time. However, he found a table at the back and raced to it before it could be taken, sitting down promptly. He grimaced as he looked down at his burger - he really wanted a Big Mac. Nonetheless he picked it up, unwrapped a section, and took a bite.
Big Macs were better.

Sapphire grabbed her food and looked around for an empty seat just her luck no empty tables. But in the back was a boy who went to her school. She didn't really know him but she knew his face. And though not really caring if he had a problem with her or not she made her way over and took a seat in front of him.
"Hey...I'm going to sit here...That alright?"She asked before he even had a chance to answer though she was sitting down and eating her French fries and taking a sip of her coke.
Sapphire was not into those diets that girls died for. The no fat, no food, hell I will just throw it up died. That was just gross. At least in her opinion. Not that she even needed to worry. She was naturally skinny from all the running around she did.
"Your...Lance right? I'm Sapphire...In case you didn't know."She stated after setting her drink down. "I think we have Science and English together."She looked up attempting to think about it before shrugging unwrapping her burger and taking a bite out of it.

Lance's eyebrows furrowed at the boldness of the girl before him, but didn't dare to tell her that he's rather eat alone. She scared him, to say the least, into silence. He nodded, however, at his name, and added, "How... how do you know my name?" He also inwardly cursed his stutter once more.
Slowly, he put his hamburger back down onto his tray, his mouth terribly dry from the horrible food. He took a quick sip of his Coke - he asked for no ice; they gave him some - and also added, "It's n-nice to meet, you... Sapphire."

Sapphire tried not to laugh at his rambling was honestly very amusing making her smirk. "Like I said before...We have had classes together."She pointed out after swallowing her food and taking a sip of her drink.
"Nice to meet you as well."She stated before looking around at all the people. She did enjoy people watching. That would have to be...In her opinion....The best past time for a severely boring day. And today was those days. She didn't know the boy she was sitting with and yes he was good looking but he didn't want to get to know him. He seemed well for lack of better words. Weird.
That was funny though something from her. The smart math and science girl who liked to blow shit up for fun. Very...Appealing. With a smirk her eyes grazed the crowd not really finding anything interesting to stare at while she ate.

Lance frowned slightly as she watched the people, feeling that it was their time and that they shouldn't be interrupted, but who was he to say? She stopped paying attention to him, and that was all that he cared about. Nonchalantly, he took another sip of his Diet Coke, only realizing then that he should've gotten a regular instead.
Again he found his eyes on the girl, but he was at a loss to say. He wanted to say something, but he also didn't want her attention back on him - he was quite fond of it being elsewhere. But, despite his thoughts, he found himself asking, "What're you starting at?"

Sapphire glanced back at him for a moment before scanning the crowds once more. "I am people watching."She told him. "Very common past time for when you are bored with nothing to do."She pointed out as she took some fries and shoved them in her mouth before taking a drink.
"Entertains me while I eat."She stated with a shrug. "Then I am usually off doing some other things. I don't like staying in one place for long. Guess is why I always get myself a detention though eh?"She mumbled keeping her eyes off him and on the people. Doing as she said she was. People watching.

Detention? Lance had never gotten detention before... "Detention?" he asked, somewhat shakily at just the idea of that. How would he ever get a scholarship with that on his permanent record? No school would want him! "What... what does that entail?"
Slowly he took up three fries, eating each of them in turn, one at a time. It seemed odd, to him, on the fact that she was eating so... ravenously, and him not - like the tables on male and female eating habits had turned. He almost voiced it, but instead decided to say, "How does watching people ease boredom?"

Sapphire laughed lightly at his question. "I don't know...Usually they have me work in the mail room or do the dishes after dinner. Sometimes just have me sit in a classroom for an hour."She stated with the nod of her head.
"Simple...You try and figure out who they are by the way they move and the way they act just from a far."She stated with a nod of head. Leaning back into her seat as she ate more friends watching everyone around them. They were all so interesting to watch. He must not have done it, while she did it everyday.

"That sounds... horrible," Lance said truthfully, taking another, rather long, sip of his Diet Coke. He nabbed a fry between his fingers, popped it into his mouth and then, after swallowing the potato, added, "Why would you condemn yourself to that? Why not just, er... follow the rules?"
He frowned. "Isn't that invasion of personal space, though?" he asked, his eyebrows furrowing at the tips as he spoke. "I mean, I don't think these people want to be observed while they eat..." Well, he knew he wouldn't like to be observed while eating, but he figured others wouldn't, too.

Sapphire looked over at him when he said follow the rules and couldn't help but laughed. "Because that is boring and I don't like boring."She stated truthfully. "Really...We go to Bacchus...The secret party school of the U.S.A...Nothing boring about this school."She told him. "You must not get out much."
"Nope...Because I am not going anywhere near them and I don't stare for long."She told with a shrug of her shoulder. "And really...I don't care if they like it or not I am still going to do it."She stated honestly while eating another fry.

Lance frowned - he got out fine enough, as far as he was concerned. He played football with classmates, and he went out to different places, even if he went alone, with naught but a solitary companion. It was more... enjoyable for him to be alone: no one to weigh him down, or to make him too busy or too awkward. Being alone was just... better.
"The secret party school of the USA?" he echoed, eyebrows furrowing, matching his fabulous frown, "I never knew that..." Wow, he didn't get out too much. The thought bugged him - maybe he should go out more, do more?

Sapphire's head shot to him in shock. "Wow...You really don't get out much."She told him honestly with a shake of her head. "I don't know how you do it really...I can't not go to a party...I mean really...How have you done it?"She asked curiously.
She didn't know one person who didn't go to a party at their school until now and honestly it was a shame because damn was he a looker. It's probably why she didn't know him more than just in class. Now that she thought about it she never saw him around much.

Lance instantly wish he hadn't said anything against the "Secret Party School of the USA" and instead kept his mouth shut like a good little boy should. However, since he didn't, he ended up shrugging a response. "I'm trying for a, er... football scholarship," he finally settled on, hoping that was reason enough for his absence at parties and other social gatherings. He even abandoned pep rallies, even though he was on the team.
Then, a though occurred to him. "How do you do it?" he shot back, surprised his voice was smooth, legato. "I mean, don't you, er, need sleep? How do you keep up in school if you're partying all the time?"

Sapphire nodded her head. "Football or not your only young once."She told him with a nod of her head. "I mean really...You don't get these years best...Why don't you make the best of them...Make some life long friends while your at it. Life must be getting pretty lonely."She told him honestly taking another drink.
"I can read 20,000 words per minutes, my IQ is 192, I have a photographic memory."She told him with a nod of her head. "Basically...I'm a genius. That and I get my work done before I go out an party."

Lance's eyes popped. A 192 IQ? What was she doing here? She was right up there with Einstein no doubt - he figured she was lying. Such feats weren't possible.
He didn't want to voice his mere 137 IQ, because, at school or talking to any of its inhabitants, it made him feel all the stupider. He knew he was never good in school, doing schoolwork - he let his mind wander far too much while teachers talked and droned on about things that weren't exciting.
"L-life's not lonely," he defended. True, he would like some more friends, but at the same time, he was fine with his solitary companion, his football, and his virginity.

Sapphire laughed lightly. "I mean...I don't do all the things that my friends do...Like sex, hard core drugs, and drinking. But that doesn't mean you can't go out and have a good time."She told him with a nod of her head.
"I mean really...Get out there...It isn't that bad."She stated honestly with a nod of her head taking another bite of her french fries. "I actually get more work done when I know I am hanging out with friends later in the night. Makes me work harder so I don't have to worry about it."She explained to him.

Lance shrugged, absently scooting back in his chair until his back hit the back of it. He picked up his burger as she spoke, taking a rather large bite from it, even though he detested it - he was hungry, and he was going to interrupt her, anyway. But, when she finished and he swallowed, he decided it was time to speak, if at least a little bit.
"I don't really, er, like... people," he forced out, putting his hamburger back down onto his tray. He grabbed his Coke, his mouth suddenly dry, and took a large gulp before continuing: "They never... appeal to me, I guess..."

Sapphire couldn't help but smirk. "You sound like my friend."She mused softly. "Yet you go to a boarding school were you are around people 24/7...Yea that makes perfect sense let me tell you. You could have gotten a scholar shit from a private day school you know."She pointed out shaking her head taking a bite of her own burger. It wasn't very good but she didn't care she was just hungry.
Her eyes darted around the place once more as she grabbed her drink taking another sip of it. Letting out a sigh as she smile watching the little kids in the play ground.

Lance was about to answer her, saying that his father always wanted him to come here, and that he did too - he didn't like it, but his dad did, and that was all that mattered to him. However, he caught her staring absently out the window as he was about to speak, and he couldn't help but follow her gaze to the playground, where she was watching little kids play.
He ended up, after tossing a few french fries into his mouth to satisfy his growling, restless stomach, watching the children, too - they were so innocent, had such great potential.

Sapphire smiled softly as she watched them run around. She never got to play in the play ground at fast food places. Hell she never got to play at them at all. She suddenly had the urge to. But a better one was she was going to sneak in and do it when the place was closed and that brought a slightly evil smile on her face.
"I never got to play in the play grounds."She stated softly as she ate some more french friend her eyes still scanning the children. They were so innocent and free. It was cute. And a part of her wanted one of her own. One day.
